Welcome to THE TELL//BY THRIFT & TELL: a celebration of fashionable women who dress as smart as they shop.
This week’s guest on THE TELL// is Paige Desorbo of Bravo’s Summer House. As someone with the blood type Bravo, it is a dream for me to have a “bravolebrity” be part of this series, but it is especially fun as Paige truly understands that good style does not mean being a slave to designer labels. Unlike many influencers sharing their $800 tank tops, Paige puts together outfits often entirely from high street brands like Zara and Forever 21 in her “outfit deets” series. Beyond her great style, Paige is funny, charming, and has unwavering confidence. I am thrilled to have her be part of this series and can’t wait to see what is to come for this dynamic lady.

//Best Fashion Advice You Ever Received: Just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it looks good.
//Types of clothing you invest in: A great long pea coat, classic black pump, a great bag.
//Types of clothing you save on: Anything that is a trend i.e. biker shorts, neon shoes, hair clips.
//Your greatest extravagance: Shoes and bags.
//Brands That Will Stand the Test of Time: Tom Ford, Chanel
//Favorite High Street Brands: Forever 21, Zara
//Favorite Designer Brands: I love Chanel it’s classic.

//Favorite Places to Shop Consignment: What Goes Around Comes Around but still a little too expensive for me!
//Favorite Places to Consign Your Own Closet: I’ve actually never done it! I donate all my old clothes to young girls.

//Your Closet Tried and Trues: I love a good turtle neck, a good pair of black skinny jeans, the perfect leather jacket.
//Best investment you ever made in your style: Splurging on classic pieces like great blazers, and I love a classic bag like my Celine.
//Style Choice From Your Past That Haunts You: I feel like I’ve always stayed on trend so things I wore were “in style at the time” but bedazzled jean pockets haunt me.
//“It seemed like a good idea at the time” a.k.a Purchase you most regret: Louboutin heels, they are so uncomfortable and I never wear them anymore. For some reason I had to have a pair.

//Currently Saving Your Pennies For: A Chanel bag
//A Deal for the History Books/Your T&T Personal Best: I found YSL pumps for half the price at century 21 still a splurge but I couldn’t believe I found them!
//Advice to someone looking to define their own style: Style is timeless, if you love something and it makes you feel good in it then wear it. I always say, when I love my outfit I just feel better
//Trend you wish would go way? I’m not a huge fan of tie dye. In moderation, I suppose.
//You feel great. What are you wearing? A really great black blazer and a pencil pant. I feel chic and classic
//Occasions when you splurge: I’ll splurge on a great dress for a wedding or gala, or if I see something I can’t stop thinking about then I know I have to have it.
//Occasions when you save: Anything that’s a trend that I know I won’t be wearing next season. I save on accessories and bathing suits.
//Most prized possession: I have a white ruffle silk top from my grandma, it’s fifties vintage. I absolutely love the style and holds a special place in my heart because it’s from her.
//Home Decor Style: All white and contemporary. My apartment is very girly with a lilac velvet couch.
//Favorite place to hunt for home decor: Home Goods is life changing.
//Go-to for unique items, whether it be clothing, accessories, home or art: My favorite place to shop is my mom’s closet. With 90s trends back in style, she has saved such great things I still wear.
//Your fashion motto: I have two “just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it looks good” and “trends can be learned style you are born with.”
